So a really cool thing happened to me today and I have to share it!
I started this Coaching thing and have met people from all around the country. It's fun getting to know people in a different way and I have come to cherish some of the new connections I have made.
Today a fellow Coach called me to share some exciting news about her personal life...she too is getting married for the 2nd time!!! I was cracking up listening to her hem & haw about all the feelings one has bei ... ng a 2nd bride. I went through these SAME exact questions when I got engaged the second time...do I wear a wedding dress? Do I just go to the justice of the peace? Let's face it, I'm old.
For some reason, I felt strange celebrating my new union. It was a 2nd marriage, I felt funny with all the attention. When you are younger, you can walk around and show off your ring and people respond but when you are older, it's strange. I was excited, but trying to be low key.
Thankfully, I have grown into the excitement over these last 8 months and have become the "28 year old bride" who is ecstatic to be getting married and planning a wedding, merging our families, and being with my first love from high school all over again...but why do we feel funny about celebrating a second wedding??
I am SO excited for this beautiful woman that she found love again. I am so happy that she is happy and this is exactly how people were feeling for me! It is a wonderful thing seeing people happy and we SHOULD celebrate it! Who cares what number you are on? If you are happy, good for you!!! HUGE congrats to all those 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 20th whatever brides out there! Everyone deserves happiness and I am thrilled my fellow Coach has been blessed enough to achieve it! Go get a dress or a veil or a two foot cake or escape to the islands! You deserve the love, support, excitement, and happiness everyone is excited about for you!
